History in Progress How To Guides

Running from the CD

1 Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.

2 CD-ROM will run automatically.

Some machines may not support autorun and the CD-ROM will not start automatically on these. If this is the case:

1 Navigate to the files that are on the CD-Rom

2 Double-click on the RB.exe file.

Standalone Install

1 Insert the CD-ROM into the drive. If the disk auto runs, wait for it to do so and then close the software.

2 Open Windows Explorer

3 Create a new folder, e.g. HIP1 on the hard disk

4 Copy the all the files and folders (including all subdirectories) from the CD-ROM into this folder.

5 Remove the CD-ROM from the drive.

6 Create a shortcut, (if required), to RB.exe which is located in the root of the folder.

Note: Users with a single user licence should not install this software on multiple machines

Network Install

1 Create a new folder, e.g. HIP1 on a suitable network drive that is preferably mapped to your workstations and has sufficient permissions such that the intended users can read the content, (write access is not required).

2 Copy the files and folders (including all subdirectories) from the CD-ROM into this folder.

3 Remove the CD-ROM from the drive.

You might find it useful to provide a shortcut to the RB.exe file so that users do not need to browse through the folder looking for it.

Note: You may find it easier if you turn off the autorun feature while installing the CD-ROM to a network.
