Network Install
The FILES folder can then be copied onto the network (as detailed below) and BTEC-First-HSC.pdf, when opened by a user on a computer that has Adobe
Reader installed, will automatically open in Adobe Reader and run correctly.
1 Create a new folder, e.g. BTEC1HSc on a suitable network drive that is preferably mapped to your workstations and has sufficient permissions such that the intended users can read the content, (write access is not required).
2 Copy the FILES and README folders (including all subdirectories) from the CD-ROM into this folder.
3 Remove the CD-ROM from the drive.
You might find it useful to provide a shortcut to the BTEC-First-HSC.pdf file so that users do not need to browse through the FILES folder looking for it.
It is also advisable to ensure that all the PDF files, Word files and PowerPoint files are set with Read-Only property so that no-one can accidentally alter them.
Note: You may find it easier if you turn off the autorun feature while installing the CD-ROM to a network.
