Fast Phonics First and The Renewed Framework

How do I know that Fast Phonics First meets the requirements of the renewed Framework in terms of the progression and pace in the teaching of phonics?

The renewed Framework has provided an 'outline of progression' which shows an example of how most children should be able to progress in their phonics. We have provided a matching chart, showing how the 'phases' in this 'outline of progression' fits with the unit-structure of Fast Phonics First. This matching chart can be downloaded by clicking here.

Why is the phoneme order in Fast Phonics First different to others I have seen, and is it aligned to the new phonic guidelines?

There is no fixed order of letters/phonemes for synthetic phonics programmes. However, it is important that the first three letters taught are two consonants and a vowel as they allow early word building. Fast Phonics First begins with 'a', 't', 'p', 'n', 'i', 's' and this order is used because these six letters make up more CVC words in the English language than any other sequence. The Fast Phonics First order was tried and tested in the successful Clackmannanshire research study and the words 'pat' and 'tap' (given as examples within 'Phase 2' of the Primary National Strategy's 'Outline of Progression') are the first two CVC words used for reading and spelling in Fast Phonics First. So, you can be assured that the Fast Phonic First phoneme order is fully aligned to the new phonic guidelines and has been developed to ensure the fastest rate of success in reading and spelling.

I understand that manipulating magnetic letters is a recommended activity, to ensure that phonic teaching is multisensory. Does Fast Phonics First come with magnetic boards and letters?
