CD is not displaying in full-screen mode?
Symptom(s):
The Fast Phonics First CD-ROM is showing on a small screen and is not fitting on the entire screen.
Cause:
If the screen resolution of the computer is running higher than 800x600, it will cause the software to show in a smaller screen and may display some of the features incorrectly.
Resolution:
Fast Phonics First CD-ROM is designed to run at a screen resolution of 800x600. Please find below instructions on how to change the screen resolution.
1. Navigate to the Control Panel
2. Double-click Display
3. Click the Settings tab
4. In the Screen resolution section move the slider to 800x600

Content is missing on some of the pages?
Symptom(s):
The content of the Pages is not being displayed correctly or some content is missing?
Cause:
Using Fast Phonics First requires the computer to have Adobe Flash Player installed. Please also check that the browser being used is listed in the minimum requirements.
Resolution:
When accessing the CD for the first time, and if Adobe Flash Player is not installed, a dialog box will appear prompting for it to be installed. Please select the 'Install' button to begin installing Flash Player.
If the content continues to function incorrectly then Adobe Flash Player can be installed manually by clicking on the link below.

If the school is using a managed network such as RM CC3 or Ranger Suite, the user will need admin rights to the workstation in order to download Adobe Flash Player. Please consult the school's network technician in order to download the software.

Audio is not playing?
Symptom(s):
There is no audio coming from the Fast Phonics First CD-ROM?
Cause:
Fast Phonics First contains a large amount of audio playback, there can only be two possible reasons as to why no sound is playing.

Speakers on mute

Speaker volume too low
Resolution:
In order for the audio to play correctly, check the computer's speaker volume and ensure that it is not on mute or the volume is not set too low.
Please find below instructions on how to check the speaker settings.
Windows users:
1. Navigate to the control panel
2. Double-click on sounds and audio devices
3. Check the Mute box is not ticked
4. Check the volume slider bar is not set too low
MAC users:
1. Navigate to the Apple Menu
2. Select System Preferences
3. Select Sound
4. Select the Input Tab
5. Select an input level and check the input volume is not too low
6. Check the Mute box is un-ticked

Incorrect audio for Pupil Reading Game Unit 11
Symptom(s):
While using Unit 11 the Pupil Reading Game. It uses the word 'Airmail' instead of 'Airport'
Cause:
An incorrect audio file has been found within the Unit 11 Pupil game. The audio for the target word is given as 'Airmail', when in fact it should be 'Airport'.
Resolution:
Please follow the steps below to replace the correct audio file to rectify this problem.
Note: These steps are for using the software on a standalone machine. If you have networked the software, please contact the schools Network Technican.
1. Firstly Download the replacement audio file by clicking on the 'download' link below. Please make a note of where the file is being saved too on your machine
2. On the machine navigate to the following Fast Phonics First folder. As a default the install files can be found here:
C:\Program Files\Rigby\Fast Phonics First\content\media
3. Unzip the downloaded file (FPF_basic_config.zip) copy it, then paste into the Media folder
4. A prompt will appear asking if you want to replace this file, please accept the changes
5. The incorrect file has now been replaced

Error Unable to find resources
Symptom(s):
The follow error appears when clicking on the Resources button on Unit 16 Language:
Cause:
Unfortunately, the file which the link calls was accidentally left off the CD-Rom. This has been rectified for the next reprint.
Resolution:
The amended file can be downloaded from here.
Download and copy the file into the "Media" folder in the Fast Phonics First directory. The default path is: C:\Program Files\Rigby\Fast Phonics First\content\media.
