Error: The software won't run
Symptom(s):
The software will not run correctly or at all.
Cause:
This CD-ROM is not a piece of software as such. It is simply a collection of Microsoft Word files. There is nothing to install or run.
Resolution:
All you need to do is simply put the disc in the drive, open Word, go to FILE > Open and click your CD-ROM drive. Alternatively, you can simply copy the whole disc to your hard drive and put the disc back on the shelf.
Step 1:
Insert the CD-ROM
Open Windows Explorer by double clicking the icon "My Computer" from your desktop.
Open the CD-ROM drive by double clicking the CD drive letter (probably D or E)
Go to Edit > Select All (this should highlight them all in blue)
Go to Edit > copy
Step 2:
Create a new folder on your desktop called "PST files". (right click on desktop > new > folder)
Open the new folder by double clicking it
Edit > Paste
This process will copy the CD-ROM contents directly to your computer. The copy on the CD-ROM
will remain as a back up.

Error: The files on the CD-ROM are read only
Symptom(s):
It is not possible to save files back to the product CD-ROM.
Cause:
All the files on the CD-ROM are read only. This is because files on any CD-ROM are always read only. You cannot make changes to a Word file and then save it back onto a CD-ROM.
Resolution:
In order to resolve this issue copy the contents of the CD-ROM to your hard drive.
When you have done this then you need to change the file on your hard drive so it's not "read only" anymore. The properties of the Access files can be changed when the file has been copied by right-clicking on it (before opening it) and under "properties" unchecking the "read-only" attributes box before working on it.
NOTE: The files are not read-only when copied in XP.
