'I was particularly interested in the 'Use and Apply with ICT' volume and reviewed it for year 5. Many teachers still find it difficult to effectively incorporate ICT into the curriculum in a way that enhances the learning but in this book, the groundwork is already done for you. Usually 'software' included with books tends to be fixed screens or activities which are not variable. However, the software that accompanies this book offers teachers the opportunity to input information of their own to vary the activity and this adds to its appeal and usefulness. The programs come with a brief but effective video explanation of how to use the software to deliver the lesson and are especially useful for teaching assistants prior to working with small groups. The activities are also differentiated, highlight the learning objectives very clearly and highlight statements for AfL.'
