User School Case Study
Working well across the school
We needed something that would work equally well for all of us and Explore Science provides a solid background for non-specialists, and appeals to science specialists too. The opportunities for cross-curricular links were a big factor in our choice. Overall I was attracted by the good balance between teachers’ and pupils’ material, and between books and software within the programme.
Ideal tool for whole-class teaching
It’s great for whole-class teaching, for keeping everybody on track and motivated. The Teacher’s Books have a good, clear layout, and I do like the way the assessment works. I particularly like the way children are encouraged to explore their findings by the sections on “why I think this happened”.
Fascinating Pupil Books The children love the Pupil Books – they think they are brilliant and they can’t stop reading them! In fact, the only drawback is in stopping them turning the pages and skipping too far ahead! The “Did you know section” is particularly popular, and always provides food for thought. And there are some super investigations that really get them involved. After 7 years of using our own resources, it’s wonderful!
