Teacher Toolkit

The Teacher Toolkit comes in three parts: the Teacher Cards map out the teaching and practical activities for maths lessons; the Interactive Planner CD gives you the flexibility to personalise the plans to suit you and your class; and the Interactive Teaching Resources CD, with inspiring ready-made activities, matches your teaching for two days per week.

Teachers Cards

Adaptable, reduces your time planning and offers full flexibility  At the heart of Abacus Evolve are the easy-to-follow Teacher Cards. The 30 Teacher Cards ensure there is sound progression and differentiation, the right amount of consolidation and extension and a good balance of stimulating activities in each week's teaching.

Interactive Planner CD

Helps you to plan to suit your needs. With this CD, you can:
  • Adapt the lesson plans to meet the needs of your class
  • Preview all the motiviating activities
  • Track pupil progress and feed this back into your planning

Teaching Assistant Notes

Reduce your planning time! Comprehensive Teaching Assistant Notes help Teaching Assistants work independently and reduce the time you need to spend planning. These fully editable notes help your TA's support group work by providing instructions, practical tips and mathemetical background.  Supplied in Word on the Interactive Planning CD, enabling you to edit and adapt them to suit your class.

Homework Sheets

Adaptable and a fountain of engaging activities The Homework Sheets, supplied in Word on the Interactive CD, provides motivating activities either to practise the week's work or lay the groundwork for the next.

Interactive Teaching Resources CD

With over 100 ready-made activities for you to choose from, this CD involves and inspires. Demonstrates mathematical concepts and makes learning fit together by using models and images from the pupil resources   

Assessment Tasks

18 tasks available per year. Created to use in groups to determine pupil's understanding from observation and questioning. Each task provides details of the activity, the likely outcomes for pupils of different abilities and advice on common misconceptions

Assessment Tests

Allows you to track your pupils progress more formally.  These tests cover key objectives and include written and aural tests for Years 1, 2 and 3.

 

Pupil Materials

Choose from three Workbooks for each of Years 1 and 2, a Textbook for Year 2, three Textbooks for Years 3 to 6 and and a set of Photocopy Masters for each year.

The Workbooks offer a huge range of relevant activities for reinforcing and practising skills.

  • Motivating, colourful pages for independent skills practise
  • Clear differentiation so you can make sure pupils use the right pages

Year 2 Textbook

One Year 2 Textbook covering spring and summer term in Year 2 helps pupils start to record their work.

Three Textbooks for each of Years 3 to 6

These Textbooks  provide clear differentiation and progression, and have problem solving integrated throughout, including word problems, number puzzles, investigations and more.

Photocopy Masters

 A set of Photocopy Masters for each year is available in two formats; photocopiable or as PDFS on the Interactive CD and  in the Teacher Toolkit. These provide additional practise and reinforcement of key mathematical skills, further differentiation and resources to support whole class teaching.

Gives you everything you need for motivating, challenging problem solving activities  Each CD (one for each of Years 1 to 6) provides an animation to introduce the problem, the interactive activity and teachers notes including questions that can be used to extend the learning.
