How to amend pupil data?

Unfortunately there is no possible way to amend pupil data. In terms of if a pupils name was spelt incorrectly it cannot be amended, neither can it be deleted.

This is due to the I-Planner reports are arranged by mathematical objective, rather than by collating the data by pupil name, therefore this procedure was not implemented into the I-Planner when developing it.

If a pupils name has been spelt incorrectly a new entry will need to created showing the correct name.

However if the I-Planner has yet to be used or only a few names have been entered there is an option to Clear Pupil Data. But before this feature can be used a plan needs to be saved. Once the plan has been saved the Clear Pupil Data feature becomes available.

Note: The Clear Pupil Data can only be used while viewing the weekly plan. This feature is not available in any other section of the I-Planner e.g. If viewing the Evaluation and Learning section the Clear Pupil Data option will be greyed out.

How to migrate the SQL database?

The I-Planner database needs to be moved from one server to another, what is the best procedure to follow?

Please note in order for this to work the installation routine must be exactly the same for both installs i.e. the content and database must be in identical directories on the different servers.

1.  Install Abacus Evolve on the new server. Launch Abacus and enter login information.

2.  Before copying database from your old server you need to stop the following service on both servers: MSSQL$Halley.

3.  Copy the following from the old server to the same location on the new server: (default location)

  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL ServerMSSQL$HALLEY\Data

4.  Then restart the service: MSSQL$Halley on the new server.

5.  Restart the server to push through the changes made above.

Note – we have tested this process on our test network here, but it is not a recommended installation procedure and as such we can not provide support on any errors which may occur.
