Please read before you proceed with the installation of Key Skills Activity Pack Software:

The installation instructions provided below are intended as general guidance and do not aim to provide detailed technical information. Some systems may not operate in exactly the same way, but the basic process remains the same. If in doubt, please consult your network administrator and/or technical support documentation.

All drive letters below are used as examples; drive letters on your system may vary. Ensure that all folders used for installing the software have sharing and permissions enabled (see 'installation overview' file in the ReadMe folder).

Run from CD

On a PC

1. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.

2. CD-ROM will run automatically.

Some machines may not support autorun and the CD-ROM will not start automatically on these. If this is the case:

  • Go to 'My Computer'
  • Browse to the files on the CD
  • Select the MAINMENU.PDF

On a Mac
1. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.

2. Double-click the CD-ROM icon.

3. Double-click MAINMENU.PDF

Line Break

Network Installation

For Windows

  1. Open the READINST folder
  2. Open the WINDOWS folder
  3. Double-click on ACRD4ENU.EXE and Acrobat Reader 4.0 will install.

For Macintosh

  1. Open the READINST folder
  2. Open the MAC folder 
  3. Double-click on ar405eng.bin and Acrobat Reader 4.0 will install.


The documents themselves (MAINMENU.pdf and PACK.pdf) can then be copied onto the network (make sure they are put in the same folder) and, when opened by a user on a computer that has Acrobat Reader 4.0 installed, will automatically open in Acrobat Reader 4.0 and run correctly.
