Active Business How To Guides

Please read before you proceed with the installation of Active Business:

The installation instructions provided below are intended as general guidance and do not aim to provide detailed technical information. Some systems may not operate in exactly the same way, but the basic process remains the same. If in doubt, please consult your network administrator and/or technical support documentation.

All drive letters below are used as examples; drive letters on your system may vary. Ensure that all folders used for installing the software have sharing and permissions enabled (see 'installation overview' file in the ReadMe folder).

Line Break

Minimum Local Install

All the presentation content is accessed from the CD-ROM; therefore, the CD-ROM must always be in the CD drive when the application is

used.

1. Select “Minimum install”

2. Click Next, the installation destination screen will be displayed.

3. Choose your install path. The default location is “C:\Program Files\Heinemann\Active Business”. If the default location is not suitable then the button can be clicked to display an Explorer dialog box enabling you to choose an alternative destination.

5. Select the required destination and click the Next button to display the Licence agreement. You must accept the Licence agreement to proceed.

6. Click on Next to proceed with the installation or to abort the installation.

7. Once installation is completed, an “installation complete” screen will be displayed.

8. Click OK to complete the installation.

Interactive Presentations can now be started using the Desktop shortcut (Active Business) or the Start Menu shortcut (Start -> All Programs -> Heinemann -> Active Business). The CD-ROM must not be removed while Active Business is running.

If the CD-ROM is reloaded & autoplay is enabled, the installer will start. However, on registering that Active Business is already installed it will stop immediately.

Line Break

Full Local Install

1. Select “Full local install”

2. Click Next, the installation destination screen will be displayed.

3. Choose your install path. The default location is “C:\Program Files\Heinemann\Active Business”. If the default location is not suitable then the button can be clicked to display an Explorer dialog box enabling you to choose an alternative destination.

4. Click the Next button to display the Licence agreement. You must accept the Licence agreement to proceed.

Line Break

Network Install

On the Server:

1. Select “Network Copy”

2. Click Next, the installation destination screen will be displayed.

3. Choose your install path.The default location is “C:\Program Files\Heinemann\Active Business”. If the default location is not suitable then the Browse button can be clicked to choose an alternative destination. It is recommended that the chosen area be a mapped drive available on your workstations and that the permissions are set appropriately.

4. Select the required destination and click Next the button. The Licence agreement will be displayed. You must accept the Licence agreement to proceed.

5. Click on Yes to proceed with the installation or No to abort the installation.

6. Once the installation is complete, an “installation complete” screen will be displayed.

7. Click Finish to complete the installation.

On the Workstations:

The presentation can now be installed on client workstations by navigating to the install folder on the network server & running Active Business - Client Install.msi.

1. Navigate to the install folder on the network server from your workstation and run Active Business - Client Install.msi.

2. The installation welcome screen will be displayed.

3. Clicking Next will display the Licence agreement. You must accept the Licence agreement to proceed.

4. Select the “I accept the terms in the license agreement” option and then click the Next button to continue.

5. The next dialog allows you to enter your customer information, including the user name and organisation. Additionally, you can choose whether to install the product for specific users on the workstation or for all users, which is the default setting.

6. Clicking Next will display the confirmation message.

7. Click Next to proceed.

8. When installation is completed, an “installation complete” screen will be displayed. Click Finish to complete the installation.
